A December to Remember!

Posted by Andria at 6:10 PM 0 comments

December 2012 was absolutely wonderful especially having a new little addition to celebrate with ;) It seemed like every week we had fun plans from a simple day of crafts to a big day at Disney World. Our goal as a family is always to have quality time and make beautiful memories. Here's some of what we did throughout December..

At the beginning of each month Lowes has a great little program where you can take kids and let them have hands on fun building things. They do different projects each month and even earn badges. What a perfect opportunity for hands on learning since Aizlynn is home schooled! We started out our Dec. with Aizlynn getting to build, I mean REALLY build with hammer, nails and all, a "gingerbread house". Her Daddy didn't waste any time getting involved. It was so cute!

Every year through a sort of girl scout club at our church called Mpact girls, Aizlynn does what they call "Christmas Around the World" where each group of girls is assigned a country and they learn about holiday traditions from that specific place. They're also in charge of bringing one dish from that country. This year Aizlynn had Egypt and this mama worked hard backing enough Basbousa cake for a lot of people! Aizlynn made quite a pretty little Egyptian girl if I d say so myself ;)

This next set of pics is our annual Christmas cookie baking day. An awesome tradition if you ask me! Every year we go to Grandma and Grandpa's house and spend the whole afternoon busy baking and decorating cookies while listening to Christmas songs in the back round. My Dad did the sweetest thing that day & pulled out a Christmas sweater that use to be mine as a little girl. I can't believe he kept it after all these years! It was so cute seeing it on Aizlynn..

Another Briggette Christmas tradition is to go to Magic Kingdom and do the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. This year we wanted to change things up a bit as Aizlynn was DYING to experience the Osborne Spectacle of Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios so we park hopped. It was actually an awesome experience and we ended up having just as much of a great time as if we'd gone to Magic Kingdom if not more!

Here we are celebrating with my Dad & step mom. Traditionally we spend Christmas Eve with them where we'll exchange gifts and it always includes Christmas Eve dinner out at a nice restaurant. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful family :)

Last but certainly not least, there's Christmas day. We had an amazing Christmas! The girls not only got spoiled rotten but we were surrounded by family all day which is the most important part. Of course, Christmas this year was all the more special now that our beautiful Aubrey Grace is here.

If there's one thing I know for sure it's that no matter how much "stuff" I get, I already have everything I've ever wanted or needed. Hope everyone out there had a wonderful Holiday season!

Santa Pics 2012!

Posted by Andria at 11:29 AM 0 comments

We've always taken Aizlynn to get her pictures with Santa but, this year she got to share his lap with her baby sister. She didn't mind one bit ;) We have the actual pics by "Santa's elves" here at home but I hate the whole "picture of a picture" thing so here are some quick shots I took of their special moment with  him..

Precious if I do say so myself ;) Love these beautiful girls SO MUCH!

Semi- Wordless Wednesday: Thanksgiving 2012

Posted by Andria at 5:29 PM 1 comments

A Thanksgiving post in December?! Well, with the way life's been going for us this year, yes! I tend to be behind on these things a lot lately ;) This Thanksgiving was at Mom's house, kept simple & intimate.  Nevertheless, it was wonderful and the food was amazing. Here's a peak at our day..

(Simple but cute table setup. Gotta love the mis-matched chairs!)

(Aubrey testing out her secondary walker for "Mama & Papa's" house. She approves)

(LOVE Moms punch bowl! Isn't it gorgeous?!)

(So very thankful for my beautiful family..)

Aubrey Grace is 8 Months Old!

Posted by Andria at 7:21 PM 0 comments

I swear every month that goes by in Aubrey's life feels like the blink of an eye and I can never get used to it. My baby girl is eight months old already! In fact, this post is a little late so she's actually getting closer to 9 months now. Time flies when you're having fun ;)

It seems like every month I say this but, she sure has changed a ton this month! Her abilities, temperment, personality, "speech", are all changing so quickly it's like a new baby every month.

Our newest adventure is sleep training. Sounds harsh but, we're trying to go about it the best way possible. Aubrey's never learned to sleep without me my boobs so it results in her waking up constantly at night. At first I just dealt with it but, lately I started having more and more days where I can hardly function. It's not good for either one of us so we're have to make a change. So far Aubrey's been very tough and isn't giving up without a fight. Gotta hand it to her, she's very stubborn. Hopefully in the weeks to come we'll have a new routine down and we'll all be well rested for that matter..

(playing with my camera on a cloudy day with my perfect little model. LOVE that smile of hers!)

At eight months old Aubrey..

Can wave at random. Hardly ever when we wave, just when she feels like it lol!

Wears 6-9 month cloths. 12 if it runs small..

Size 2 shoes.

Eats three "solid food" meals a day and the rest is mamas milk.

Is not a picky eater (so far). She'll eat any baby food I give her.

Can eat "puffs" now that mommy's not scared to death that she'll choke ;p

Does wonderfully during car rides now! This was SO not the case before.

Scoots around in her walker much better whereas before she'd barley move an inch.

Babbles when she's crying as if she's telling us off in baby language lol!

Is learning to give the most adorable, slobbery, open mouth kisses :)

Has quite a temper. (oh boy)

Drags her self around on her belly- I sense she'll be crawling very soon..

Can turn her body all directions while still sitting on her bum.

Is still a HUGE mommy's girl. It's a wonder I EVER get anything done!

My sweet, darling baby girl, what an amazing gift you are. I still can't believe you're here even eight months in. I've enjoyed so much seeing all the new and adorable things you do every day. I'm so very proud of you and can't begin to express how much I love you. Can't wait to see what you'll be doing next month!

"Family Pics/Aubrey's 6 month pics"

Posted by Andria at 2:28 PM 0 comments

Although this post is a couple months late (oops), it's certainly one i've been dying to share! Our first official family pics as a family of four as well as Aubrey's six months photos :) For this session we went all out and it was worth every penny! The shoot was split into two separate days and two gorgeous locations. Our photographer did an amazing job and worked wonderfully with our girls. More importantly, we now have incredibly beautiful pictures that will grace the walls of our home for years to come. Looking at these pictures is such a precious reminder of what Jeffery and I have built together..
