Aubrey Grace Is One Month Old!

It's so hard to believe it's already been a month since my precious baby girl came into this world. Where does the time go?! Aubrey has been such an amazing addition to our lives- Its like she's always been here. She's given me such a new appreciation for life, family, children and I've seen things so differently in the past month. I really do think my perspective has transformed a little more with each child I've had.

My days are still very much centered around Aubrey. Pretty much anything I do or need to do depends on whether I need to nurse her, change her, put her down for a nap (which can take a while sometimes) etc. Life's definitely taken some getting used to again but I wouldn't have it any other way! We are all so happy to have this sweet baby in our lives.

(Aubrey was starting to fuss haha!)

At one month old Aubrey-

Doesn't really have a natural schedule or rhythm yet so we just go with her flow during the day.

Is most definitely more high maintenance than Aizlynn was. I think we have a tiny diva on our hands ;)

Is happy to be in someone's arms all the time.

Likes and responds well to being swaddled up like a little burrito.

Does NOT like being bathed. She cries pretty much the whole time lol!

Is getting closer to 7 lbs and is starting to look not so swallowed by her newborn outfits.

Eats about every 2 hrs give or take. No sleep for mommy lately!

Is OBSESSED with being on the boobie but does take bottles and pacifiers just fine.

Roots at anything that comes near her face (its actually pretty funny)

I think she's trying to coo a little. She seems to be experimenting with her voice a bit.

Has a very strong little neck and is good at picking her head up.

Is already very observant. I love watching her look at the world around her as if she's truly taking it all in.

She's such a wonderful, BEAUTIFUL baby and I can't wait to see what new things she'll be doing next month! Aubrey, I love you SO VERY MUCH!

Aubrey's Three Week Update

Posted by Andria at 9:32 PM 3 comments

Week number three marks the start of colic. Poor baby Aubrey has had a few bouts of that this week and its been hard to see her go through it. I know it's not just crying but actual tummy pains. We're hoping to get some herbs within the next few days and get her all fixed up. Other than that It's been a blessing continuing to watch her grow and change. She's looking so different to me lately and I'm starting to see her filling out around her face. All of us are just crazy in love with her and there aren't very many times throughout the day where Aubrey's not in my arms. We introduced our Moby wrap this week and you can tell how much she loves being in it by how serene she looks. So yeah, among other things, we're now official "baby wearers" ;) She's definitely shown more of a need to be held than Aizlynn did but, I truly enjoy holding my babies so it's no biggie. She's only this tiny once right?!

One special event that happened in Aubrey's third week of life is her very first Easter! We had a wonderful day and both my girls looked adorable if I do say so myself. We visited family and everyone went crazy seeing Aubrey in her fluffy pink dress and giant bow. She didn't get to participate in the egg hunt like her big sissy but she did end up getting THREE different baskets from the "Easter bunny". Already getting spoiled lol!

I can say it now!

Up until recently I always felt an inner hesitation when people would ask if I was breastfeeding. I'd say yes but in the back of my mind I would think "for now". I guess I felt as if I would fail. I kept waiting for something to just go wrong and cause me to stop. After all we did start out with some challenges and I'm still dealing with soreness but after over three weeks in, I feel I can say it now. I'm a nusring mom!  This has meant so much to me and it's almost been like a redemption for me given how badly it went with Aizlynn. I know for some women this is nothing but, I'm very proud to have achieved successful breastfeeding. We did it! Now the next goal I'd like to reach is making it to at least twelve months but for now I'm taking one day at a time..
